I wiped my drive because I thought I had a virus or something, what should I do wrote: Now my account balance is negative and paypal won't refund me. I'm in the same position at the moment, my computer got remotely controlled ( not with team viewer but something else I don't know what ) and someone stole for about 2000$ from me.
I posted here in hopes that someone had already gone through this and could give me some advice. I will give it another day and call PP fraud dept to explain the teamviwer hack. I did finally email them and got a response that they are working on it. So I've been dealing with their terrible customer service as well. Well the walmart transactions were cancelled automatically due to a fraud detection BUT they still took money from bank. Some of the purchases were from for gift cards to the tune of $300. I am also working on the seller end a bit. I called yesterday to ask about it and the lady told me to email again. I emailed their claimappeal without any reply yet. NOW, I do know what happened and have all the logs and browser history to prove it. The problem is I did not know or realize that at the time. I have already contacted customer service, started a claim on 5 transactions, ALL got denied due to the IP address being my own. Needless to say I am very frustrate at the lack of response. Do I call in again (for the umpteenth time) and explain my situation or is there someone here on this forum. Who do I need to contact to get this resolved. I will contact them again and hopefully someone from Paypal will see this and help. I have yet to receive a reply from the claimappeal email. I did appeal the claim and explained what happened. I had already filed a claim and they denied it due to my IP Address BUT now I have the explanation and log files to prove it. I did check out the logs and found that someone did indeed get on my system on May 27 about 6am and bought some gift cards with an IP address from California. So then I thought of teamviewer which I use to access my office computer. told me that transactions were done from my work PC. Finally one of the people from the fraud dept. I recently found out that my PC WAS hacked through teamviewer after filing a claimn and getting it denied. I have been back and forth with the sellers and paypal for over a week. I can post many links to web sites where this issue is discussed. This is a KNOWN issue and has happened to many others. I posted this to another thread yesterday and got no replies so I started a new one in hopes that a mod will see it.
